The Edmonton Cubs have had a strange first half of the 2026 season.
They started out winning 6 of their first 9 games, including getting to the Finals of the Tigers Tournament. However, since a 7-0 loss to St. Albert in that final, things have gone off track, especially at the plate.
A few key injuries to Dean Olson and Marcus Pollard as well as losing Josh Croft and Derek Shedden for the summer have tested the Slueth's depth and has lead to 5 straight loses.
Edmonton still sits in a playoff position in the North Division, one game up on Sherwood Park for 2nd, behind the undefeated St. Albert Tigers.
A few rookies having been carrying the load on the mound as Andrew/Josh Dechaine, Griffin Lafreniere and Lucas Verhoeven have performed well in their appearances.
The boys will look to get the bats back on track at the Red Deer Riggers tourament this upcoming weekend, July 11/12.
